One of the town's two libraries is closed while it undergoes building works.
The site, in Windmill Street, Gravesend, will be shut for around two weeks as Kent County Council works on "urgent repairs".
As a result there will be extended opening hours on Wednesday and Friday at the borough's other library in Coldharbour Road.
It will now be everyday, except for Sunday, between 10am to 5pm.
On Saturday Kent Libraries tweeted: "Gravesend Library is now closed for approximately two weeks for urgent building repairs.
"We are working closely with our property management colleagues to re-open as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"Due to the closure at Gravesend we are providing extended opening hours at Coldharbour Library on a Wednesday and Friday.
"Any loans from Gravesend due back during the closure will have their loan periods extended to ensure customers are not charged late fees.
"We will provide an update as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate customers' understanding. We are working to ensure Gravesend library is open again as soon as possible."
