Ebbsfleet maintained their unbeaten away record by sharing the points with Maidenhead in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.
A couple of shots saved at either end from Maidenhead’s Sam Collins and Fleet’s Calum Willock were the only incidents of note in a quiet opening half hour.
A fine 25-yard free-kick from Ashley Carew (pictured) after 36 minutes then brought the game to life. Ricky Shakes was fouled and Carew struck a sweet shot into the top corner of the net.
The home side thought they might have had a penalty when Joe Howe looked to have fouled Alex Wall in the area but nothing was given. Wall then saw a volley take a deflection, but keeper Preston Edwards saved.
Just before the half-hour mark, Maidenhead levelled when full-back Bruce Wilson hit a volley that curled round Edwards and into the net.
Neither side then came close to adding a winner, with a late positive for Fleet coming when Scott Ginty was brought on for his return from a long-term hamstring injury.
