Man bailed in Northfleet after 'cocaine' found in vehicle

A man who was arrested after suspected cocaine was found in a vehicle, has been bailed by police.
Officers on patrol in Northfleet became suspicious of a car travelling in the opposite direction to them along London Road, Gravesend, just before 10pm last night.
They performed a U-turn and requested the vehicle stop. The vehicle accelerated before coming to a stop in Cross Road.
Police subsequently searched uncovered two bags of suspected cocaine, a baton and a quantity of cash.
A 33-year-old man from Strood was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, possessing an offensive weapon and driving while uninsured and disqualified.
The man has been bailed pending further inquiries.
