Man charged after girl, 17, ‘raped’ in Manor Road, Gravesend

A man has appeared in court accused of raping a teenage girl.
Officers have been investigating an incident in Manor Road, Gravesend, which was reported to have happened between midnight and 12.45am on Monday (May 13).
It is alleged the 17-year-old was walking in the area when a car with four men inside - who she did not know - approached her.
She later reported that she had been sexually assaulted and was raped.
Yesterday (May 17), police arrested and charged Harjeet Singh, 26, of Wellington Street, Gravesend, with rape and sexual assault by touching.
He appeared at Maidstone Crown Court, which was sitting as a magistrates’ court, today (May 18), where he was remanded to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on June 17.
