A man has died after being hit by a van as he walked along the side of the carriageway on the A2.
The 20-year-old who has not been named, was walking on the London-bound carriageway by the Gravesend East slip road when he was hit by a white Vauxhall Movano van at 11.25pm last night.
One friend of the victim said: "He was honestly one of the most happiest boys I’ve know, he’s going to be missed, just the way he smiled and laughed and made everyone’s day better whenever we would see him."
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance service attended and the man, who was in his 20s, was confirmed deceased.
"The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the man or the vehicle in the moments before the collision.
"They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage which might assist inquiries."
Anyone with information should call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting AH/JW/73/20, or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
