Man rescued from mud in River Thames at Gravesend near the LV21

A man has been rescued by the RNLI after seemingly becoming trapped in mud.
Crew members from the lifeboat service were attending to the man in the River Thames at Gravesend attempting to pull them out of the water.

Three RNLI crew members were aboard the lifeboat at around 2pm after being called to the man's aid.
A spokesman for the station said he was recovered and handed over to paramedics and Kent Police officers.
A huddle of firefighters and officers were also seen watching the rescue attempt near the LV21 lightship in St Andrews Quay, West Street, Gravesend.
Kent Fire and Rescue was called at 1.40pm to assist Kent Police but their services were not required and no action was needed.
