The man who was stabbed is still receiving treatment in a London hospital. Two women were also in the house at the time of the incident, but were unharmed.

The suspects, who got in through the front door as one of the women made their own way into the house, have been described as white with south London accents, and all of them were reported to be dressed completely in black.

A dark saloon vehicle with distinctive alloy wheels was seen near the property during the time of the incident, which happened between 8pm and 9.30pm on Monday.

Officers want to speak to the owner of the vehicle.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Kara Sweetland said: "This violent attack was a terrifying ordeal for the family and we want to hear from anyone who might have seen anything or can provide us with information."
