A man was threatened with a crowbar and injured during a struggle after he disturbed a man raiding his home.
The victim, a man in his fifties, arrived at his house in Sole Street, Cobham, at 2.35pm on Tuesday to find a woman in a silver Peugeot parked on his driveway.
The woman claimed her car was overheating and she was waiting for it to cool down. The victim asked her to move the car off his driveway, and she moved it onto the road.
The man then went inside his house and as he started to walk upstairs, saw a man running downstairs.
The burglar threatened the victim with a crowbar and chased him into his living room. There was a brief struggle before the offender ran out of the house.
The victim followed the man into Scratton Fields where he saw him get into the car driven by the woman. The pair then drove off towards Cobham.
The victim suffered a cut to his left arm.
Officers believe the man got into the house by removing a patio door from its frame. He is also believed to have damaged a window in an attempt to gain entry.
They have now issued two computer-generated images of the suspects.
The man is described as black, 6ft, of a stocky build and with a London accent. He had stubble and was wearing a dark hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
The woman was wearing tracksuit top and bottoms, possibly red or pink, and had plaited hair.
Investigating officer, DC Rob Sircar said: "We believe the couple may be in the London area and would ask anyone who recognises these images to contact Kent Police on 01474 366 149 quoting XY/006002/17."
