A pancake flipping competition was held at the town’s market to mark Shrove Tuesday.
Gravesham’s mayor, Harold Craske, was on hand to partake in the activity alongside stall holders at Gravesend Borough Market on Tuesday, February 13, after the pancake race which was due to take place in New Road at 12pm was cancelled due to rain.
Pancakes were flying all over the place as children and adults took hold of their pans and began flipping against the clock.
People with buckets were passed round to collect for the British Heart Foundation.
The Messenger’s reporter Daniel Green came out on top after battling Gravesham council’s Press officer, Sarah Knight, winning 41 flips to 40.
