A mouse has been filmed running through the seating area of Coffee Republic in Bluewater.
The footage of the rodent in the shopping centre cafe was uploaded to Twitter this morning.
The user tweeted: "Bluewater! Coffee Republic is riddled in mice. They’re living in the torn furniture.
"The vermin will be horrendous. Hygiene Standards need to be checked? Absolutely horrendous!"
A spokesman for Coffee Republic said: "We have been made aware that a rodent was seen in the seating area of the Coffee Republic after closing.
"This was brought to our attention by Bluewater Shopping centre to whom the complaint was made.
"It is important to note that mice did not come from the food prep areas, storage or kitchen areas which all meet local council hygiene standards.
"The cleanliness of these key areas have not been affected as the rodent was isolated to the seating area.
"Nonetheless, we had a preventative pest control visit last week, and we have contacted our pest control company to re-attend with an emergency appointment tomorrow.
"We also have regular preventative pest control visits scheduled in as part of our operational processes. That has been sufficient to date in preventing such occurrences.
"As the seating area is open plan with the main shopping centre it appears the rodent may have entered from communal centre parts.
"As such we have also been in touch with Bluewater Shopping Centre to ensure they are taking appropriate action and they inform us they are also attending tomorrow.
"If there was any risk to the health of our staff or our customers we would close the site."
Bluewater confirmed it was dealing with the problem.
A spokesman said: "We’re taking this issue very seriously and supporting Coffee Republic to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”
Millies Cookies, the unit beneath the coffee shop, confirmed via Twitter that the store has had the all-clear in regards to pest control.
