A glowing report for one nursery came just at the right time of year.

Little Angels Day Nursery, in Shepherd Street, Northfleet, has been rated outstanding in its latest Ofsted report.

Inspectors found staff were excellent role models for children, who felt safe and built close, supportive relationships with them.

Sugandree Chavda, owner and director of Little Angels, said: “We are extremely proud of what we have achieved. We have worked really hard since we moved into our new place.”

She took over the nursery at the start of 2011 and in 2012 the nursery moved from Vale Road to the new Shepherd Street address.

Their previous inspection, in January 2013, found the service to be good.

Ms Chavda said: “This time we were really pleased – over the moon actually.

“We’ve been working a lot with parents in the community and helping children who can speak several languages too.

“We also have worked to get funding for children who need special education sessions or one-to-one care.”

Little Angels Day Nursery has 60 children enrolled between the ages of two and five.

The inspection report found the provision to be outstanding in all areas.

It said: “Children’s behaviour is exemplary. Children are particularly kind towards each other and go out of their way to help their friends.

“Staff support children’s positive behaviour extremely well.

“All staff fully encourage and value partnership working with parents and other professionals.

“This extremely positive approach supports children’s learning exceptionally well.

“Parents give high praise for the accurate information they receive about their children’s progress.”

It also emphasised the nursery’s focus on helping children develop language and thinking skills and staff’s expert support.

Inspectors said to further improve, the nursery should “build on the existing wide range of opportunities to enable children to further extend their understanding of technology.”
