Traffic wardens from Gravesham are set to be the stars of a popular TV show.
Parking Wars’ next episode will follow nine traffic wardens around Gravesend as they go about their jobs and brave the on-going war between motorists and parking enforcers.
The latest installment of the ITV programme will be the third episode of the second season and will be airing on Tuesday, October 4 at 8pm.
Throughout the episode, which will also be set in Cambridge and Manchester, the audience will follow the traffic wardens as they deal with everyday scenarios such as the school run and ranting residents.
Parking Wars started as an American show but was first brought to the UK by ITV and Century Films last year.
The documentary series films local authorities as they dish out fines and catch people out on the high street and in car parks.
Gravesham council issues 6,600 tickets a year to motorists parking in restricted areas, with many of them given outside schools.
And traffic wardens are often on the receiving end of abuse and sometimes even violence from disgruntled motorists.
A spokesman for Gravesham council said: “It’s disgraceful the way some members of the public behave towards the enforcement officers.”
