Gravesend power cut after underground fault

A power cut has affected several customers in the DA12 2 postcode region of Gravesend.

UK Power Networks have said engineers are working as quickly as possible to restore power supplies to customers in the Albion Road area of Gravesend following a power interruption at 9.03am today.

A spokesman said: "Staff have located a fault on an underground cable and repairs are progressing to reconnect the properties. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."

The estimated time the power will be back on is between 2pm and 3pm.

Update at 14.25: Engineers have been able to restore power to all customers in the Albion Parade area, by diverting power around an underground cable fault.

A spokesman said: "Supplies were restored on our network at 2.06pm after the fault was traced to a private network.

"Due to the nature of this issue, if your power isn't back on we'll need to hear from you.

"We're really sorry for any disruption this caused."
