Gravesend were on the end of a storming second-half comeback as Sidcup secured an 18-15 win in London 1 South on Saturday.
Scrum-half Jon Clement won the race forward to recover a chip ahead to score the opening try on 15 minutes but the home side responded with a penalty – having missed two previous attempts – to make it 5-3.
Dorton set-up Scott Curley to burst through for the second try. Dorton added the extras for a 12-3 lead and slotted a penalty to extend the advantage.
However, just five minutes after the break, the home side drove over for a converted try and Gs were kept in their own half for long spells.
The home side pulled back another score on 52 minutes and the pressure continued with Sidcup going ahead 10 minutes later.
Gravesend came to life at 18-15 down but could not respond, with Dorton missing a penalty from the half-way line.
