Police responding to reports of somebody shouting for help, discovered a man who had been stabbed.
Officers called to Clarence Place, Gravesend, found the victim – who is in his 40s – had suffered a stab wound just below his armpit.
He told police he had met up with a man he befriended the previous day.
While walking together, the offender had attempted to take his mobile phone. It happened at 3.15pm on June 9.
In an earlier incident at 10.20pm on June 2, patrolling officers were flagged down by a man reporting he had been robbed.
He said a stranger had approached him in New Road in the town centre before threatening him with a knife and stealing his mobile.
Investigating officers have since charged Habibullah Faqeerz, 29, of Harmer Street, Gravesend, with two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The 29-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody and will appear at Woolwich Crown Court on July 16.
