The Sun will be looking to make amends for last season’s Charity Shield penalty shoot-out defeat to Welsh Tavern when the two teams meet again on Sunday.
The winners of the senior divisions of both the North Kent Sunday League (NKSFL) and the Kent Suburban League meet at Dartford’s Princes Park ground for this year’s Shield match.
Sun have won the NKSFL Senior Division 31 times and have claimed the Sunday Premier Cup for the last three years. They have won 43 cups in league competitions, along with 13 Charity Shield games.
Welsh Tavern were members of the NKSFL for 24 years before departing for the KSL in 2004.
They started out as Dartford Supporters before changing their name to Welsh Tavern.
Welsh have been crowned KSL Senior Division champions for the last two years.
Sunday’s game kicks-off at 10.45am.
