Sun win Kent Sunday Cup for third time in a row

Sun captured the Kent Sunday Premier Cup for a record-equalling third consecutive season and the fifth time in their history, thanks to Frank Whitehead’s last-gasp winner in the 3-2 defeat of Centresports United at Beckenham.
After an uneventful first half, Centresports scored twice early in the second half to take control. Then Sun’s fighting qualities shone through as they fought back with the first of Whitehead’s goals.
Centresports missed a glorious opportunity to stretch their lead before Sam Jeffrey equalised. The final appeared to be heading towards extra-time when Whitehead popped up at the far post to snatch a dramatic victory.
Valley Rovers lifted the President’s Cup after beating New Ash Green Reserves 2-0.
After a goalless first half, Perry Lammas headed Rovers into the lead from a corner. From another set-piece, 50-year-old Kevin Atkins headed back to 48-year-old Mark Lane to score and clinch the cup for Rovers.
