Park goers are being reminded to take their rubbish home after litter louts left a trail of filth.

Gravesham council shared an image showing litter left at Gravesend Promenade, as more people headed to the area following the recent spike in temperatures and new Covid-19 lockdown guidelines.

A post on Gravesham council's Facebook page said: "If you are using our parks and open spaces to enjoy the sunshine, please show some respect for where you live and for others by taking your litter home.

"There is no excuse for scenes like this. This week alone, our horticultural team has spent 14 hours clearing mess like this just from the Riverside area.

"That is 14 hours that should have been spent cutting the grass, trimming hedges, weeding and planting to ensure the area is at its best for the coming summer. Take your litter home. Others do."
