Ebbsfleet’s eight-year stay in the top-flight of non-league football came to an end, despite a dramatic victory at Tamworth on Saturday.

Two Scott Ginty goals in the space of four second half minutes gave them maximum points on the final day of the Blue Square Premier season.

But victories for Eastbourne Borough and Gateshead ensured the Fleet were relegated to Blue Square South.

Iyseden Christie gave the home side the lead after 10 minutes when he fired the ball into the bottom of the net from inside the penalty area.

But their joy was short-lived when Michael West’s corner was headed home by Magno Viera a minute later.

Ricky Shakes then put Fleet in front after 37 minutes when he scored with a shot into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.

But it was the home side’s turn to provide quick response when Michael Wylde netted with a close range header two minutes later.

Tamworth restored their lead after 57 minutes when Bradley Pritchard hit a shot from outside the area into the top left hand corner of the goal.

Ginty brought Fleet level again when he helped Ricky Shakes’ shot over the line after 76 minutes.

Four minutes later Ginty put Liam Daish’s side in front when he lobbed the keeper, but it proved to be in vain.
