Three teenage girls feared they would be sexually assaulted when a drunk Medway man made lewd comments to them on a train, a court heard.
The trio were travelling from Dartford to Gravesend around 4.30pm on February 21 when two men boarded the train at Greenhithe.
Medway Magistrates’ Court heard Borisas Bliumenshin, 43, formerly of Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, and his companion were drinking from a vodka bottle.
Bliumenshin asked the girls how old they were and when they said they were all under 18, he replied: “Another year and you would get it.”
He then made thrusting motions with his hips, which made the girls feel uncomfortable as they believed him to be making sexual references.
When the girls tried to change carriage, Bliumenshin took a step towards them and they believed they were going to be raped or sexually assaulted. All three left the train at Northfleet and changed carriages.
They notified police officers on the platform at Gravesend and Bliumenshin was arrested.
Bliumenshin said: “I don’t remember it at all, I woke up in a police station, I was just trying to get home.
“I hadn’t seen my friend for five years and we had a drink, had a little bit too much.”
He added: “I’m really sorry about what happened.”
Magistrates heard although Bliumenshin has no previous convictions in the UK, he is known to the Criminal Justice System in various countries.
He served five months in prison on the Isle of Man in 2010 for obtaining property by deception.
Bliumenshin, who earns £250 a week as a charity worker, pleaded guilty to three charges of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress, when he appeared in court on Wednesday, May 10.
He was given a conditional discharge for 18 months and ordered to pay £85 costs, £20 victim surcharge and £50 compensation to each of the girls.
