A socially-distanced pantomime set to entertain families this Christmas will go ahead, but online instead of as a live show.
Those behind Rapunzel, due to open at The Woodville, Gravesend, have decided the show must go on, but streamed in the comfort of your home.
The run had been due to begin on Friday, December 11 and go through until Sunday, January 3.
When Kent was placed in Tier 3 restrictions, the launch was put back until at least December 16.
But following the latest government tier review and confirmation that Kent will remain in Tier 3, The Woodville and Wicked Productions announced today that the live performances of this year’s pantomime Rapunzel have been cancelled.
Box office staff at The Woodville will be in contact with everyone who has bought tickets to arrange refunds.
Wicked Productions’ Tom Swift, writer and producer of Rapunzel, said: “We are so sad that we aren’t able to perform to live audiences this year.
"However, the online version we have produced is brill and Gravesham audiences can still enjoy their Christmas tradition with The Woodville and Wicked Productions and watch a fantastic show with an amazing cast.”
Tickets are on sale now for the first streaming date this Saturday.
A stream ticket for the 90-minute show costs just £20 and the link is valid to play on the date you choose to book. Streams are available from December 19 to January 3.
