Around £10 million is to be invested in the county - according to government minister John Denham.
That is the announcement expected from communities secretary John Denham today, when he visits north Kent to speak about the Future Jobs Fund cash injection.
Mr Denham is due to visit Spark IT centre and job club in Swanscombe, which is run by Dartford council and inveronmental regeneration charity Groundwork.
Staff there will help young people get one of the 600 jobs to be created by the Gateway Knowledge Alliance, a skills and education alliance in north Kent, Medway and Swale, thanks to a £3.75 million award from the government fund.
He had also arranged to visit Thames Gateway YMCA, in Overy Street, Dartford, where Kent County Council (KCC) youth workers will try to secure youngsters one of the 1,000 jobs set to be created thanks to a £6.25 million award from the fund.
