They start them young at Gravesend Sailing Club...
Last Thursday, Edward Davies-Mullan, at just three days and one hour old, became the fourth generation of his family to take to the water at the club, which is based at Gordon Promenade East.
His great-grandparents, Jim and Jean Twyman, joined Gravesend Saling Club in 1948, starting a continuous run of more than 70 years of family membership.
Young Edward was held safely by his father John, as they took to the water on the River Thames at Gravesend with maternal grandparents Penny and Steve Davies.
Edward's mother Harriet, who is currently Vice Commodore, stayed on shore for this trip.
