A dog that appeared to want to jump from a bridge caused delays on the A2 last night.
Passersby tried to grab the brown lurcher-type dog but 'indicated he was going to bite them'.
It happened at 4.20pm from a bridge onto the A2 London-bound at Gravesend.
A police spokesman said: "Members of the public had tried to get close to the dog but the dog indicated he was going to bite them.
"Officers stopped the traffic temporarily so they could get to the dog safely.
"The dog was caught and is currently being looked after by officers. Traffic resumed soon after."
Gravesham council's dog warden has been made aware the dog has been found.
