Train delays after person 'fell onto track' at Gravesend

Trains were delayed after a person fell onto the track at Gravesend station.

The man is said to have collapsed, fallen onto the tracks and hit his head and he has now been taken to hospital.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at around 1pm.

The power to the tracks was switched off while the man was helped onto the platform.

Trains were delayed but are now back to normal.

One ambulance a paramedic car was sent out and the man was treated his for a head injury and since been taken to Darent Valley Hospital.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We were called just after 1pm to a man who was taken unwell on the platform. He had fallen onto the tracks and has now been taken to hospital by ambulance."

A Kent Police spokesman added: "No serious injuries are believed to have been reported."

A Southeastern spokesman said: "An incident occurred at around 1pm this afternoon at Gravesend station. Emergency services were called to attend the scene."
