People from Kent wanting to travel on Eurostar or Southeastern trains today are being advised to make other plans.

The rail operators have suspended all trains in and out of London St Pancras because of a trespasser on the tracks.

Eurostar, which runs services between the UK, Paris and Brussels, is advising passengers to cancel journeys or exchange their ticket free of charge.

A spokesman said the interruption, which affects trains stopping at Ebbsfleet and Ashford International stations, will last until at least 9.45am.

A Southeastern spokesman said: "There are currently no high speed services running between St Pancras International and Ashford International or Faversham because of the ongoing trespass incident.

"Tickets can be used on London Underground, Thameslink and Fastrack bus services."

Eurostar passengers heading to France were already facing possible disruption due to industrial action by French customs at Paris Gare du Nord station.
