Two charged with taxi driver's attack

Two men have been charged following an alleged assault on a taxi driver in Gravesend.
The cabbie, who works for Phoenix Taxis in Northfleet, was assaulted on Friday, April 24 outside the Crown pub in Perry Street.
Stephen Richardson, 33, of Greenhill Road, Gravesend and Gavin Clark, 20, of Snelling Avenue, Northfleet, are each charged with affray and an assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with the incident reported just before 11pm.
Both will appear at Dartford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 3.
Gravesend taxi driver Gian Chand Bajar was murdered in May 2007 following a dispute over a £5 fare. The killing prompted the installation of security cameras in all the borough's cabs.
