Gravesend keep hold off the ball against Old Colfeians
Gravesend maintained their place at the top of the London 1 South table with a 16-13 win over Old Colfeians on Saturday.
The visitors went 3-0 up but Dave Dalton slotted over a penalty to level the score and soon after Tom Bishop latched on to a kick ahead and touched down to make it 8-3.
Matt Weighman’s injection of pace made room for Adam Bishop to race through to stretch Gravesend’s lead to 13-3 on 53 minutes.
Colfeians forced their way over for a try to move within five points but Dalton kicked another penalty and despite the visitors adding a second try in stoppage time, Gs held on to win.
