Vigo crashed out of the RFU Junior Vase in the third round after a 26-5 loss at Chipstead in Surrey on Saturday.
The visitors were forced to name a makeshift back division and Chipstead took advantage with a blistering opening first quarter, running in three tries and effectively putting the tie beyond Vigo.
However, Vigo, playing with commitment and aggression, fought back and despite a converted try for the home side at the start of the second half, strong runs by Andy Wilford and Toby Skinner gave the visitors some encouragement, culminating in a deserved try for James Weller.
