Firefighters tackle washing machine blaze in Park Avenue, Northfleet

A home has two new smoke alarms after an early morning drama.
Firefighters were called to a home in Park Avenue, Northfleet, at 6.43am today where they found a small blaze in a washing machine in the kitchen.
The machine was damaged by fire and the kitchen suffered smoke damage.
As well as putting out the flames, crews also fitted two new smoke alarms in the property.
They were finished by 6.57am.
