This is the moment hooded thieves broke into a bar and carried away a safe containing £15,000.

King's Head sports bar in King Street, Gravesend, was targeted by three men in the early hours of Monday, June 7.

CCTV captured the hooded trio entering the back of the property just after 1.40am. The footage shows two of the men heading straight downstairs where they locate the safe. One of them lifts it up on to his shoulder and they walk back upstairs and make their getaway.

Owner Rifat Sucu says there was £15,000 inside and the offenders could have been former staff members.

He added: "They knew to come on a Monday when there would be the all takings from the weekend in there.

"There was very little other damage, just to the door. They did not touch the money in the till or any of the stock.

"The police have said it could be ex-staff members because they knew exactly where the safe was and went straight to it. They didn't go behind the bar to the til, they just ran straight downstairs."

Mr Sucu is now offering a £2,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that would lead to an arrest.

He said: "That money, it is gone, I'm never going to get it back but I want to see these people get punishment. That's why I am offering a reward. I don't want them doing the same to another business.

"I am shocked it has happened. I have been here 12 years. I have never had anything like this happen before."

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 1.42am on June 7, 2021 to a report of a burglary inside a business premise in King Street, Gravesend, where three people are believed to have broken into the property in the early hours where a safe was stolen. Enquiries to identify those involved are ongoing."
