People from more than 20 homes sang the classic carol to help raise spirits in light of a tough year.
One of the brains behind the plan, Julie Swift, said: "We have had such a bad year with everything going on, and we just thought it would be nice to do something to go out with a bang.
"We just wanted to spread some Christmas cheer."
Verity Robinson, who lives on the road and took part, said: "It is extremely important to have a good community around you, especially this year.
"It has been such a tough year for everyone. Being part of a strong community makes a real difference. I am very lucky to live on the close with such lovely supportive neighbours.
"It was so lovely, it lifted the spirits of the close in such unsettling circumstances."
They also sang Silent Night and Jingle Bells.
