Twinkling lights and bursts of colour lit up the night sky as Windmill Memorial Gardens were turned into a festive winter wonderland.
Christmas on the Hill was held in the gardens, off Clarence Place, Gravesend, throughout Saturday afternoon and became a magical place for visitors.
The festive gathering was the second held as part of Gravesham council’s Merry Christmas Everyone festive programme.
Both young and old helped light hundreds of candles to create the spectacle and take part in a short lantern parade.
People could also get their skates on for a spin around the ice rink, or enjoy watching the children’s entertainers, including a magician, Peppa Pig and the Baby Ballet bear.
There was also an activity area where youngsters could play a range of games and follow clues around a trail.
Youngsters visited Santa in his grotto, enjoyed the Punch and Judy show, watched the stunning birds of prey and had a ride on a donkey.
There was also music from choirs and bands and the under-14s got arty at a lantern-making workshop.
