Woman 'held down by four people' as they stole jewellery in burglary at home in Merton Avenue, Hartley

A woman was held down by four men and assaulted during a burglary at her home.
Police are investigating the crime which happened in Merton Avenue, Hartley, between midday and 12.16pm on Monday.
It's reported four people forced their way into the victims house and held her down, before smashing her mobile phone and stealing her jewellery.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
One neighbour said: "An elderly neighbour was beaten and robbed in her own home in Hartley this morning.
"Police are dealing with it but please look out and secure your homes as best as you can, there are some nasty people about."
Crime scene investigators attended the property and detectives conducted house to house inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Ashley Bowles said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the victim and we are conducting a number of enquiries to find out who carried out this burglary.
"If anyone witnessed anything suspicious or has any information that will help us with our enquiries, please contact us."
