‘Tireless’ councillor of 18 years dies at 66

Tributes have been paid to a well-respected councillor who has died aged 66.

Raymonde Collins had been a Conservative councillor for the Meopham South and Vigo ward of Gravesham since May 1991.

She passed away at the EllenorLions Hospice in Northfleet on Sunday, December 5.

Gravesham council chief executive Glyn Thomson said: "Cllr Collins was a tireless member who was much respected for her work on behalf of people in her ward.

"She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time."

Cllr Collins’ funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 16.

Her family has requested that donations to the hospice or Cancer Research UK are sent to: Lewis Solomon Funeral Service, 19 Darnley Road, Gravesend Kent DA11 0RZ.
