Ebbsfleet United manager Steve Brown questions league scheduling after four Skrill South fixtures in 10 days

The action-packed start to The Skrill South season has not gone down well at Ebbsfleet.
Since the Fleet kicked off their campaign against Havant & Waterlooville on August 17, they have played three more league games in nine days.
Football League clubs returned to action on August 3, with The Skrill Premier starting a week later, but sixth-tier clubs were left kicking their heels for another seven days.
Ebbsfleet manager Steve Brown said: “I don’t mind having a lot of games in a short space of time if there’s a cup competition to be played but when you see every other league start a week earlier and then they squeeze in four games in nine days, it makes no sense to me.
“Squads are tested to the limit almost immediately and it’s something that could have been easily rectified with an earlier start date.
“Why can’t we start the week before and stretch that out a little bit? It’s harsh on every Skrill South side and the squads you have at this level.”
