Ebbsfleet United manager Steve Brown has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Stonebridge Road.

The 41-year-old former Charlton player is 10 months into his first management job, having succeeded previous Fleet boss Liam Daish last June.

Brown's assistant manager Steve Gritt, first-team coach David Jupp, goalkeeping coach Ron Hillyard and physios Jamie Crosswell and Lewis Hards have all agreed new deals as well.

Ebbsfleet are fourth in Skrill South with six games of the regular season remaining and they will play Dover in the Kent Senior Cup final on Monday, May 5.

Chairman Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi said: "When KEH acquired the club last June and appointed Steve Brown as first-team manager he had very little time to assemble a squad of players for the 2013/14 season.

"I have been very impressed with Steve and the progress the team has made this season and we are well placed to qualify for the end-of-season play-off competition but we are taking nothing for granted.

"Additionally we have a Kent Senior Cup Final against Dover to look forward to. This season has been Steve’s first as a manager and I am sure that the experience he has gained will be put to very good use going forward. Making this step now will allow Steve to plan for next season and beyond.

"I have also been impressed by the work of Steve Gritt, David Jupp and all the backroom team and there is a very good spirit within the club which is key to success in any football club.

"This is an important step forward in the future development of Ebbsfleet United FC and I urge all our supporters to give their total support to the management and players as we strive to achieve a successful end to the first season under KEH’s ownership."

Meanwhile, Fleet vice-chairman Peter Varney confirmed that Ebbsfleet will move towards full-time football by training three mornings a week next season.

When asked, 75% of the current Fleet squad said they'd be able to make that switch if required.

Mr Varney said: "We need to be planning for next season, either way. If we’re still in Conference South, it’s about what we need to improve us from this year, and if we get promoted, it’s about what we need to kick on in Conference Premier."

Brown's league record so far is 18 wins, 10 draws and eight defeats.

Ebbsfleet are away to Staines Town on Saturday.
