The stage is set for the biggest game of the Kent League season as champions Hartley prepare to host leaders Sevenoaks Vine this weekend.

Hartley are bidding to win the title for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year but Sevenoaks are determined to break their stranglehold.

After winning just one of their first five games, Hartley have stormed back into championship contention by winning eight of their last nine.

But the Vine are still 13 points ahead of them and Hartley captain Shane Deitz knows his side simply can’t afford to lose Saturday’s crunch clash.

He said: "Every game’s a cup final for us because we know that one loss means it’s going to be tough to regain the title.

"Hopefully, the weather stays fine and we have a good game. We’ve got a good record at home over the last couple of months and to win any competition, you’ve got to win your home games.

"We’ve been successful for a few years now. You win the league in August and September, not May and June and we’ve been in this position before."
