Ebbsfleet United midfielder Luke Coulson on their National League play-off chances

Luke Coulson insists Ebbsfleet have always been play-off contenders.
Fleet are up to eighth in the National League – their highest position since August – and only goal difference is keeping them out of the top seven.
They’ve spent most of the campaign in mid-table but seven-goal Coulson says they’ve never lacked belief.
He said: “There have been one or two little dips when we’ve got close and fallen away, which teams like Macclesfield and Sutton haven’t done, but when you consider we have been consistent throughout the season and we’ve played some great football against some of the big teams, I think we’ve always been a contender to be in the play-offs.
“Everyone knows that going into the final leg of the season it’s all on form.
“Whoever is unbeaten in their last eight games or has won their last seven, that’s the team you usually back. We’re definitely in contention to keep pushing.
“There is a little gap between Wrexham and ourselves we’re definitely in contention.”
Coulson believes Fleet’s record against the league’s big guns will boost them in the run-in.
He said: “We went to Hartlepool and won and we beat them at home and we beat Leyton Orient at home, so we know these teams are beatable if the tactics are right and we’re all switched on.
“Wrexham beat us away from home but that was a result we felt we didn’t deserve. Did the first goal actually cross the line? Then there was a dubious penalty.
“Everybody is up for this game to prove a point against a team we can be challenging in the play-offs.”
Fleet were due to host Wrexham on Saturday but the match has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.
