Jamie Day apologised to Ebbsfleet supporters after Sunday's 5-1 defeat at home to Basingstoke.
Day kept his players in the changing-room for around 45 minutes after the match.
Fleet came from behind to beat Welling 3-2 in the FA Trophy on Tuesday and then won 5-1 at Chelmsford on Boxing Day - but they fell apart against Basingstoke.
Day said: "The second half was embarrassing.
"In the first half we did alright and we created some chances and probably should have taken the lead – they had one shot and scored from it – but what I saw in the second half from my team is not what I expect.
"Maybe the two previous games had covered over the cracks.
"The second half was embarrassing, watching it, and if I was a supporter, I’d be fuming with what I’d seen. I apologise to them for that because that’s unacceptable.
"We got a goal just before half-time and you’d think that you’d come out and up the tempo and raise your game and have a right good go at them but we didn’t.
"There was a lack of desire and hard work and they showed more effort and willingness to want to win the game than my players.
"Changes need to be made and I will do that sooner rather than later.
"I’ve given everyone a fair chance now and we can’t have performances like that."
