Jamie Day admitted a point at home to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday wasn't good enough.

Goals from Danny Kedwell and Matt Godden earned Ebbsfleet a 2-2 draw in front of their biggest crowd of the season - 1,636 - at Stonebridge Road.

But results elsewhere have left them 10 points adrift of the Vanarama Conference South play-offs with just 10 games left.

Day said: "We didn’t start the game very well and we gave a poor goal away but after about 15 minutes, we got on top of it and showed a bit of character to take the lead.

"We didn’t start the second half well enough again, we gave a free-kick away and got punished for it.

"We want to get three points, we need to get three points so we’re disappointed with a draw.

"At the end, they broke and they had 3v3 and they chose the wrong option, where we were trying to get a goal and putting ourselves under pressure.

"It was probably a good game to watch but obviously we’d like to have got more than one point."

The crowd was boosted by a free ticket promotion as part of the club's Community Day.

Day said: "If you’d just come today and watched, I think you’d want to come back.

"Obviously you want to see us win but the football was pretty good at times and there were four goals. From a supporters’ point of view, they would have enjoyed it."
