Ex-Fleet manager dies

FORMER Gravesend & Northfleet manager Stan Harland has died following a heart attack. He was 61.
Harland came to Stonebridge Road from Yeovil in 1982 and was appointed by former chairman Roger Easterby.
A Liverpool-born midfielder, he first joined his local club Everton but after failing to break into the League side he moved to Bradford City where he made 120 appearances.
He later moved to Carlisle, making 77 appearances before signing for Swindon where he captained the club and made 237 appearances. His last league club was Birmingham for whom he made 37 appearances.
He leaves a wife, Joyce, and two daughters.
