Ebbsfleet are looking to establish a new youth set-up by the start of the 2014-15 season.
New first-team coach David Jupp looks like the man to lead the venture, having worked with Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy for a decade.
Jupp this week joined manager Steve Brown and assistant Steve Gritt in what is a completely new backroom staff at Stonebridge Road.
Brown said: “David comes with lots of assets. He completes what will be an experienced management team at the club.
“With a bit of a longer-term view for the football club, we’ve got one eye on using his academy manager’s licence to set up a youth system for the start of next season.”
In the short-term, Jupp has been tasked with getting Ebbsfleet’s senior players fit in time for the new Conference South campaign.
Brown added: “David will be heavily involved in providing strength and conditioning programmes for the players. I worked with him in the under-18s at Brighton so I’m aware he is capable of completely taking that department over."
