The road to Wembley takes Ebbsfleet United to East Yorkshire this weekend as they bid to reach the FA Trophy semi-finals.

Fleet’s 2-0 win over Conference side Braintree on Tuesday has set up a quarter-final clash at North Ferriby United and got their supporters dreaming of a second final appearance in seven years.

Liam Daish led the Fleet to Trophy glory in 2008 and now Jamie Day is the man hoping to take the club a step closer to the home of football.

"I’m pleased to get where we’re at," Day said. "Now you look at it and you’re three games away from being in the final.

"We’ll take one game at a time. We know it’s going to be a really tough game on Saturday, it’s going to be a battle but if the boys show the same as they showed on Tuesday, we’ll give ourselves a chance of getting through.

"We’d like to get into the semi-finals if possible, so we’ll give it our best. Hopefully Tuesday breeds a bit more confidence and belief in what the players are capable of doing."

Dean Rance, who had only recently recovered from an ankle injury, turned it again on Tuesday night and faces another lay-off.

However, Sean Shields is back after illness and loan signing Ben Jefford will be added to the squad for the trip north, having been ineligible for the Braintree replay.
