Ebbsfleet United duo Myles Kenlock and Billy Clifford join National League rivals Barnet

Myles Kenlock and Billy Clifford have left Ebbsfleet to join National League rivals Barnet.
The duo were offered deals to stay at Stonebridge Road by the Fleet after impressing under manager Danny Searle last season.
Kenlock has signed a three-year deal with Barnet, the length of contract reflecting his excellent displays in an Ebbsfleet shirt last term.
Having been without a club last summer, Kenlock arrived at the Fleet in late October. The 27-year-old former Ipswich and Colchester man spent time with Barrow and Aldershot in 2022/23 and revealed he spent the first two months of last season training on his own after failing to land a contract in the EFL.
Barnet boss Dean Brennan said of Kenlock: “Myles is a player we have tracked for the last 12 months.
“He has an excellent football brain, can defend 1v1 whilst also having the athleticism to take his opponent the other way.
“Myles is a great age and a player that I know will upgrade our squad.”
Kenlock said: “The ambition for the upcoming season is playing as many minutes as possible and helping the team to promotion.
“The style of play under the gaffer is exciting. It really plays to my strengths and it will be a pleasure to add whatever quality I have to the team.”
It’s a double raid on Ebbsfleet by the Bees with midfielder Clifford also making the switch to north London.
Clifford struggled to find his best form under former Fleet boss Dennis Kutrieb after joining from Havant but excelled under Searle.
The 31-year-old is reunited with Brennan, a manager he played for previously at Wealdstone, and has penned a two-year deal at Barnet.
Brennan said: “We have been monitoring Bill for the past six months and the fact that I have worked with him before and trust his personality and ability, I feel he is a great fit for our squad.
“Bill is one of the bravest players I have ever worked with. He is prepared to receive the ball in all scenarios and he knows what I expect from him. I’m delighted he chose to join us.”
Kenlock departs with 27 Ebbsfleet appearances to his name while Clifford also totalled 27 starts, along with 18 substitute outings.
