ANDY FORD'S Gravesend & Northfleet side will hoping to bounce back from the disappointment of only picking up a point at Chesham United on Saturday by beating Aldershot at home on New Year's Day.

Saturday's draw at least allowed Fleet to maintain their push for promotion out of the Ryman Premier Division after scraping a 2-2 draw. The Fleet, who were six points behind league leaders Canvey Island before the start of play, needed a last minute equaliser from Francis Duku to salvage a point from the match.

Chesham started off brightly and took the lead after only quarter of an hour when Victor Boyle-Renner slotted home but Craig Wilkins equalised for Gravesend 10 minutes later from just inside the box.

The home side were reduced to ten men on the half hour mark when Richard Goddard was sent off following a 22-man brawl but the loss of one of their players didn't stop them re-taking the lead early in the second half.

However, Jason Solomon's penalty goal for Chesham was cancelled out in stoppage time by Duku, who converted Eliot Martin's corner from close range.
