James Ball has left Ebbsfleet to sign for one of the club's National League rivals Solihull Moors.
The 23-year-old has joined the club for an undisclosed fee on a deal set to run until June 2021.
Ball only arrived at Fleet back in July after signing from League 2 club Stevenage, where he had managed 21 appearances across the 2018/19 campaign.
This season has seen him feature in each of the club's opening 14 league matches, scoring one goal in the 2-1 away win at Boreham Wood.
Ball started his career on the books at Bolton, during which time he briefly went out on loan to Hyde United.
He followed this up with spells at Northwich Victoria and Stalybridge Celtic before signing for Stockport County in 2016, helping the club reach the National League North play-offs in 2017/18.
Such was his impact that he subsequently earned a move to Stevenage, with Ebbsfleet then taking on his services during the summer.
Ball told Solihull Moors' official website: “It was somewhere that I always wanted to come to, even in the summer. For one reason or another it didn’t happen, but I’m just happy that it’s happened now.
“As soon as Tim (Solihull manager Tim Flowers) contacted me, I was sold and ready to come.
“It really struck me how ambitious the club are – the new stand and the vision that the club’s got. It’s something that I wanted to be a part of.
“I know it’s not going to be easy to go straight into the team, because they’re on the back of some good results. I’m going to have to earn my place, but that’s what I’m here for and that’s what football’s all about.
“It’s better when there’s competition for places and you don’t just walk into the team every week – that’s where complacency sets in.
“I’m ready to fight for my place and promotion is the aim at the end of the season.”
