Garry Hill believes Salford City will be feeling the pressure when they arrive at Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

The pre-season title favourites have lost their last four matches and dropped to sixth in the National League.

Salford have gone seven games without a win in all competitions so Fleet will be hoping to repeat their victory against title-chasing Leyton Orient last month.

Boss Hill said: “I think they’ll feel the pressure – that’s life – but they’ve got a big squad and they’ll probably turn up with 24 or 25 players.

“But you can only play 11 and you can only have so many on the bench. I don’t worry about other clubs because we can’t change what we’ve got.

“I take positives out of where the football club was when we came in the first week in November.

“You know about the cost-cutting exercise which has been taking place with staff and players and certain things have gone on at the football club so to be able to manage and contain everybody and still be positive and go to work, all credit to the players, supporters and staff.”

The Class of 92 are now the majority shareholders at Salford after David Beckham joined Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes in taking a 10% stake of the club.

Hill said: “It’s good to see people who have had success at the highest level putting a lot back into football in their area.

“They haven’t just moved on and showed no interest, they’ve now started to build and be part of a football club which they want to take into the Football League.

“I think it’s absolutely superb.”
