Billericay 1 Gravesend 3
GRAVESEND & Northfleet stayed top of the Ryman League, Premier Division, after an excellent win at Billericay last night.
Their sixth consecutive away win delighted manager Andy Ford who saw goals from Che Stadhart, Danny Lye and Craig Wilkins earn the points.
In what was an excellent advertisement for non-League football, Fleet took the lead in the eighth minute when Stadhart's backward header from Jimmy Jackson's free kick gave Gavin King in the Billericay goal no chance.
However, Fleet's lead was short-lived - the home side equalising soon after through a cool Gary Dixon finish.
But Fleet, yet to drop a point away from home this season, regained the lead within three minutes when Danny Lye's looping header found the back of the net.
Wilkins settled the result in the second half when he headed home from a corner.
Stadhard also hit the post as composed Fleet came away with the points after a thoroughly professional performance.
