Stevenage striker Michael Thalassitis has joined Ebbsfleet on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old Cypriot has two years left on his contract at Broadhall Way, where he has found first-team opportunities in short supply.

He will compete with former Dover strikers Ben May and Billy Bricknell for a place in Steve Brown's starting XI at the Fleet this season.

He said: “I am really pleased to have been given the opportunity to play for Ebbsfleet United this coming season.

"Stevenage have been very generous in allowing me to have this season-long loan, which means I can really settle down and become a full-time member of the squad.

"I am really looking forward to this new challenge and getting to know my new team-mates.”

Thalassitis, a Cyprus under-19 international, joined Boro in summer 2011, following their promotion to League 1.

However, he made just three appearances for the Hertfordshire club that season and spent time on loan at Hayes & Yeading and Boreham Wood.

Thalassitis scored his first Stevenage goal in a 4-1 Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton at the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

He had brief loan spells at Cambridge United and Bishop's Stortford, before rejoining Boreham Wood and scoring seven goals in 19 outings.
